Chongqing's new super high-rise landmark has completed its main structure topping out!

Recently, the Beijing Urban Construction Northern Group Chongqing Jiangbei嘴 B01 plot project, highly anticipated by the people of the mountain city, has reached a significant milestone—the main structure has been fully topped out, and the project stands proudly by the Yangtze River in a brand-new posture.

The Chongqing Jiangbei嘴 B01 plot project is located in the core area of Chongqing City. The north and east sides are adjacent to the Yangtze River, with views of Chaotianmen Bridge and Tanzishi across the river. Its geographical location is excellent. The total construction area is approximately 216,700 square meters, encompassing four high-rise public buildings and a podium, including a super-high-rise hotel with 44 floors and a total height of 199.95 meters, a 29-story, 137.65-meter-high super-high-rise office building, and two 19-story, 93.55-meter-high office buildings.

As another group of gateway buildings in Chongqing showcasing the image of an international metropolis, this project, upon completion, will serve as a cultural landmark along the two rivers and four banks, and also as an important intersection of core urban commerce and tourism. It will house the nation's first dual-brand international hotel in a single tower—the W Hotel and the Courtyard by Marriott, both under the Marriott brand. Upon completion, the project will promote the upgrading of Chongqing's hotel industry and will also synergize with the Sandongqiao folk custom street, further enriching the international consumption environment in the Jiangbei嘴 area of Chongqing.

The roof design is also unique. The combination of a "diamond-shaped roof" and an "open-air viewing platform" adds a dazzling "diamond crown" to the building. The construction of this uniquely shaped steel roof structure was extremely difficult, with the longest inclined column from the 41st floor to the crown reaching 28 meters, at a 75-degree angle. The steel crown structure is connected to the curtain wall, requiring extremely high installation precision.

During the construction process, the project team overcame many unfavorable factors, such as the narrow site and traffic restrictions in the surrounding area. The project team adopted advanced technologies such as "aluminum formwork + prefabricated composite plates + attached scaffolding," optimizing the construction process to achieve a "small flow, fast pace," reducing material land space, achieving rapid turnover, and successfully ensuring that the project completed key milestones on schedule.

The project aims for a three-star smart construction site and comprehensively applies BIM technology, covering the four key stages of planning, design, construction, and operation and maintenance. During construction, data monitoring and quantitative analysis were conducted using the BIM model, with efficient collaboration among all parties involved, significantly improving construction efficiency. Simultaneously, in terms of construction safety management and prevention, targeted safety measures were developed by identifying various risk points in the model in advance, ensuring the safe and orderly progress of construction.

With the main structure fully topped out, the project has entered the secondary structure, electromechanical installation, and decoration construction phases, and is scheduled for completion by the end of 2025. It is believed that in the near future, it will become a shining business card for the mountain city of Chongqing with its unique charm and excellent quality, injecting new vitality and impetus into urban development.
