Empowering project design management, enhancing full industry chain value creation capability
Recently, Beijing Urban Construction Northern Group held a special training session on "Strengthening Project Design Management to Enhance Project Quality and Efficiency." Industry experts were invited to share practical design management case studies. The group's key personnel, project managers, chief engineers, technical quality, and engineering management personnel participated through a combination of online and offline methods. The aim is to deepen the understanding of engineering general contracting management thinking and enhance the value creation capabilities of the entire industry chain.

In the context of the current transformation and upgrading of the construction industry, mastering design management capabilities has become a core driver for managing the full value chain of projects. This training focuses on guiding frontline teams to transform into high-value-added segments of the industry chain's smile curve. By building a new capability system of "design management + full value chain service," it aims to build a cooperative and win-win industrial ecosystem and inject strong impetus into the high-quality development of the enterprise.
In terms of practical approaches, the training proposed a systematic solution: establishing a full-process management mechanism from project bidding to settlement, leveraging scientific and reasonable design planning to unlock project value; creating six major value chain systems of "investment, design, procurement, construction, operation, and maintenance," promoting the deep integration of "design" with six major business dimensions of "investment, operation, function, procurement, construction, and operation," achieving a virtuous cycle from value creation to value transformation.

This training focused on more than ten professional scenarios, including permanent and temporary structures, electromechanical engineering, and municipal engineering. Combining practical cases, it provided an in-depth analysis of the implementation path of design management, systematically presenting the full-cycle management logic from design optimization to construction completion. It provided the project team with a replicable standardized management model, laying a solid foundation for building core project management capabilities of "low-cost construction and high-quality delivery".
