On January 18, the National Bureau of Statistics announced the 2017 national economic performance. According to preliminary calculations, last year, the annual GDP was 82712.2 billion billion yuan, an increase of 6.9 percent over the previous year at comparable prices. Statistics show that last year, the construction area of housing construction in the national construction industry was 13.172 billion square meters, an increase of 4.2 percent over the same period last year; the area of new housing construction was 1786.54 million square meters, an increase of 7.0 percent, of which the area of new housing construction increased by 10.5 percent. The total planned investment in construction projects was 131162.9 billion yuan, an increase of 18.2 percent over the previous year, and the growth rate was 0.5 percentage points lower than that in January-November; the total planned investment in new construction projects was 51909.3 billion yuan, an increase of 6.2 percent, and the growth rate was the same as that in January-November.

According to statistics, the national investment in fixed assets (excluding farmers) in 2017 was 63168.4 billion billion yuan, an increase of 7.2 percent over the previous year. Infrastructure investment (excluding electricity, heat, gas and water production and supply industries) was 14000.5 billion billion yuan, an increase of 19% over the previous year, and the growth rate was 1.1 percentage points lower than that from January to November. Among them, investment in the water conservancy management industry increased by 16.4, and the growth rate dropped by 0.6 percentage points; investment in the public facilities management industry increased by 21.8, and the growth rate dropped by 1.5 percentage points; investment in the road transportation industry increased by 23.1, and the growth rate dropped by 1.5 percentage points; railway transportation Industry investment fell by 0.1 year-on-year, and it increased by 0.5 from January to November.

In terms of regions, the investment in the eastern region was 26583.7 billion billion yuan, an increase of 8.3 percent over the previous year, and the growth rate was 0.2 percentage points higher than that in January-November; the investment in the central region was 16340 billion billion yuan, an increase of 6.9 percent, and the growth rate was the same as that in January-November; the investment in the western region was 16657.1 billion billion yuan, an increase of 8.5 percent, and the growth rate was 2.7 percentage points.

From the perspective of project affiliation, central project investment was 2355.2 billion billion yuan, a decrease of 5.7 percent over the previous year, and the rate of decline was 0.1 percentage points lower than that from January to November; local project investment was 60813.2 billion billion yuan, an increase of 7.7 percent over the previous year, and the growth rate dropped by 0.1 percentage points.

The statistical report also announced the national real estate development in 2017. For the whole year, the national real estate development investment was 10979.9 billion billion yuan, an increase of 7.0 percent over the previous year, and the growth rate was 0.1 percentage points faster than that of the previous year, of which residential investment increased by 9.4 percent. In 2017, the housing construction area of real estate development enterprises was 7814.84 million square meters, an increase of 3.0 percent over the previous year, and the growth rate was 0.1 percentage points lower than that in January-November. Among them, the residential construction area of 5364.44 million square meters, an increase of 2.9. The area of new housing starts was 1786.54 million square meters, an increase of 7.0 percent, of which the area of new housing starts increased by 10.5 percent.
